Belts customisation: how CMYK sublimation works
Belt stanchions are one of the most visible elements of any installation. Between sending the artwork and receiving the belts, there are several technical steps that determine the final quality. Here is the process, laid out simply.
Step 1: Receipt of artwork
We require a vector file (AI, PDF, EPS or SVG) with the logo in CMYK or with defined Pantone colours. We also work with 300 dpi PNG files if a vector file is not available. There is no charge for our team to prepare the file for regular customers.
Step 2: Adapting to the belt format
The standard belt is 50 mm high. The logo must be adapted to this format without losing legibility. The proportions are adjusted, the repeat pattern is decided (logo every 30 cm, 50 cm or 80 cm), and it is sent to the client for approval. Turnaround time: 24–48 hours.
Step 3: Pantone colour proof
If the project requires exact Pantone colour matching, we produce a 1-metre sample of the belt and send it to the client. They can compare it with their Pantone colour chart under real lighting conditions. Approval within 3–5 days.
Step 4: sublimation onto technical fabric
CMYK sublimation transfers the ink to the polyester fabric using heat (200 °C) and pressure. The ink turns into gas and penetrates the fibre. Result: the colour does not rub off, scratch or fade in the wash. It lasts as long as the belt.
Step 5: assembly with the head
The belt is cut to the exact length of the stanchion model (3 m, 3.7 m, 5 m or 9 m depending on the model) and assembled with the self-retracting cassette. Cycle testing prior to dispatch.
Standard and urgent lead times
Standard factory lead time: 7–10 working days from artwork approval. Urgent lead time with express charge: 48–72 hours for stock logos already produced, 5 days for new logos.
