Colours and finishes
The stanchion in the exact colour of your brand. Digital printing on tubes from a single unit, or RAL lacquer for large projects.
Colours and finishes available for Dlimit™ posts
Standard finishes in stock
Any colour from a single unit
We apply colour to the steel tube using digital printing and lamination. No spray booth, no minimum order quantities: any Pantone, RAL or corporate colour from a single unit.
The finish is resistant to continuous indoor use. The laminated layer protects the print from scuffs and light, with a uniform and reproducible result across orders.
Production time: 15 working days from confirmation of the colour reference.
Traditional RAL lacquer
For projects of 50 units or more, we offer spray-painting in a booth in any Classic RAL or RAL Design colour. The process is applied to the treated steel body, ensuring a uniform and well-adhered coating.
Recommended when a metallic finish, gloss or specific texture is required. Please enquire about availability and lead times for your specific colour reference.

Bake-finish: why it’s the professional standard
All Dlimit posts are oven-baked using an industrial powder coating process applied at 180 °C. We do not use conventional liquid paint because it offers inferior durability and uneven finishes in large batches. The powder coating fuses to the metal, forming a continuous film 60–80 microns thick that withstands knocks, scratches, cleaning with industrial detergents and UV exposure for at least a decade without visible colour fading.
We work with the complete RAL colour chart, which covers the three official series: Classic (213 standard colours, the most commonly used), Design (1,625 intermediate colours for demanding interior design projects) and Effect (metallic and pearlescent finishes). For companies that define their corporate identity using Pantone, we convert the Pantone colour to the closest RAL with a Delta E tolerance of less than 2. For orders of over 500 units, we mix paint to the exact Pantone shade at the factory.
The most frequently requested finishes by sector follow a clear pattern: retail and general corporate settings favour RAL 9005 (jet black), 9016 (traffic white) and 7016 (anthracite grey). Hospitals and healthcare environments request RAL 9016 (traffic white) and RAL 7035 (light grey). Airports and public transport use the corporate colours of each operator, usually with a dark grey as a base. Design-led museums and hospitality venues work with matt blacks (RAL 9005 in a matt finish) and deep greys (RAL 7021).
Before producing an order in a specific colour, we send a lacquered aluminium strip as a physical sample, which the client compares with their Pantone chart or with the rest of the project’s furniture. This validation avoids surprises upon final delivery and is a standard part of our service for orders of more than 50 units.
What people ask us about colours
Which colour systems do you work with?
RAL (K7 Classic, Design and Effect), Pantone and NCS. By default, we work with RAL; if you provide a Pantone code, we will convert it to the closest RAL match or mix a specific colour for large orders.
Are the colours the same in matt and gloss finishes?
By default, we use a satin finish. Matt and gloss finishes are available on request at no extra cost. The matt finish is the most popular choice for museums and designer hospitality venues.
How many posts do I need to order a specific RAL colour?
For orders of 10 posts or more, we can lacquer in any RAL colour from the chart. For smaller orders, we offer stock colours: black, white, grey and corporate red.
Is the lacquer weather-resistant?
Yes. Baked at 180 °C with UV resistance and anti-corrosion properties. Minimum lifespan of 10 years outdoors without visible colour fading.
Can I request a physical sample before placing an order?
Yes. Lacquered aluminium strips in the selected RAL colour. Free of charge for confirmed orders, €30 for open enquiries.
Which colours are most popular for retail and hospitality?
Retail: RAL 9005 (jet black), 9016 (traffic white), 7016 (anthracite grey). Hospitality: chrome, gold and satin matt black finishes.
