Post-and-rope system
Dclassic is Dlimit's collection dedicated to the traditional post-and-rope system: the classic crowd-control solution associated with theatres, casinos, premium hotel receptions, red-carpet events and formal occasions. Unlike retractable-belt collections, the barrier between posts is a braided textile rope with metal end fittings that is manually attached to and removed from the post head.
It is the recommended choice when brand image, the institutional character of the space or the need to convey prestige is the deciding factor, without resorting to the industrial language of a retractable belt barrier. The rope adds a warm texture that a belt cannot provide: velvet, twill, synthetic leather or braided cotton, with end fittings in polished brass, nickel, chrome or matte gold.
Variants and configurations
Three post designs are available: Basic (straight Ø45 mm post with spherical finial), Design (tapered profile with decorative ball) and Glamour (chrome or gold finish with a classic decorative finial). All post designs accept any rope model, allowing you to use the more economical Basic version in secondary areas and the premium Glamour version at the main entrance without compromising visual consistency.
Technical specifications
Ø45 mm steel tube, 8 kg cast-iron base with decorative cover, standard height 100 cm. Ropes available in lengths of 1.5 m, 2 m and 2.5 m. Finishes available in satin chrome, polished chrome, polished brass, antique brass, matte gold or custom RAL powder coating on request.
When to choose rope instead of belt
Choose rope when the space and visitor flows are stable and do not change every day, such as a theatre with a fixed queue layout; when venue staff assemble and remove the ropes depending on the event; or when the establishment's visual identity specifically calls for the traditional rope language, as in five-star hotels, Michelin-starred restaurants, casinos and classical museums. For dynamic passenger flows in airports or retail environments, we recommend the Dlimit or Dstandard retractable-belt collections.
