About wall-mounted barriers

When to choose a wall-mounted unit instead of a post

Wall-mounted units are the alternative to a freestanding barrier when the start or end point of the barrier line coincides with a wall, column, reception counter or any fixed vertical surface. They take up no floor space, integrate into the architecture and provide a more discreet installation.

We offer four main formats. MUR BASIC is the standard screw-fixed wall unit, designed for solid brick or concrete walls. MUR FIX is the reinforced version with chemical anchoring, required for plasterboard, lightweight partitions or any surface with lower load-bearing capacity. MUR DUAL integrates two independent belts into a single housing, useful when a double barrier is required from one point. MUR METAL is used in industrial environments or outdoor areas where anchoring strength is critical.

Wall-mounted units use the same belt, top cap and self-retracting mechanism as the freestanding barriers. This means a combined installation — a wall unit at the starting wall, posts along the route and another wall unit at the end — remains visually consistent and uses the same spare parts. Customisation is also identical: logo-printed belt, RAL finish on the wall housing and a branded top cover.

Standard belt lengths are 3 m and 3.7 m, although selected MUR STANDARD models reach up to 5 m. For projects where the distance between walls is greater, we combine a wall-mounted unit with one or two intermediate posts. The modular design can accommodate virtually any layout without custom-made components.

Frequently asked questions

What customers ask us about wall-mounted barriers

When should I use a wall-mounted unit instead of a post?

When you have a fixed starting point — a wall, column or counter — and want to avoid placing a post on the floor. It uses the same retractable-belt system, but is anchored to the wall and takes up less space.

What is the difference between MUR BASIC, MUR FIX and MUR DUAL?

MUR BASIC is the standard wall unit for screw fixing. MUR FIX is the reinforced wall unit with chemical anchoring for plasterboard walls or higher loads. MUR DUAL integrates two independent belts into the same wall-mounted housing.

Can wall-mounted units and posts be combined?

Yes. A typical installation uses a wall-mounted unit at the starting point + retractable belt posts along the route + a wall-mounted unit at the end point. All can use the same belt colour and customisation.

What belt length is available from a wall-mounted unit?

The same as for the posts: 3 m and 3.7 m as standard. Up to 5 m on MUR STANDARD wall-mounted units.

What wall materials are suitable?

Any solid wall (brick, concrete, plasterboard with chemical anchoring). For plasterboard or lightweight partitions, we recommend MUR FIX with the appropriate anchoring system.

Are wall-mounted units serviceable like the posts?

Yes. The belt and top-cap mechanism are replaceable components on all wall-mounted models.
