Dlimit™ for museums

A museum needs to protect the artwork and guide visitors without allowing the barrier system to become the focus. The answer is not fewer barriers, but the right barriers. Dlimit™ designs museum-specific ranges with matte black, taupe-grey and charcoal finishes, anti-reflective fabric belts and bases without shiny edges that could attract attention.

We work with national museums, private galleries and temporary exhibition spaces throughout Europe. For touring exhibitions, we offer lightweight barriers with removable bases that can be installed and removed without damaging gallery floors.

Frequently asked questions

What customers in the sector ask us before purchasing

Do you offer barriers that do not reflect gallery lighting?

Yes. Matte black, taupe-grey or anthracite finishes reduce reflections from museum spotlights. This is our most requested finish for art galleries.

Can the belt be very discreet, almost invisible?

Yes. In addition to our standard range, we offer pearl grey, taupe and matte-black belts specifically for cultural environments.

Do they comply with accessibility requirements?

Yes. The wide LIMIT and ECO bases are detectable by a white cane, and the belt height of 90 cm complies with DDA requirements. DDA certification is available on request.

Can they be installed and removed for temporary exhibitions?

Yes. The UNFIX base is recessed into the floor with a screw and can be removed without leaving a mark. It is our most widely used solution for temporary galleries.

How do you handle replacements for museums after many years of use?

All collections are modular. Top caps, belts and bases are replaceable components. We can supply spare parts for barriers installed more than a decade ago.

Can you print belts with the museum or exhibition name?

Yes. Full-surface sublimation, minimum 50 belts. Many museums order dedicated belts for each temporary exhibition.
