SNCF Intercités: LIMIT stanchions in corporate red for platform management

The platform is the hardest space in a station to organise: the flow is not continuous, it arrives all at once and it is in a hurry. The installation for SNCF Intercités was resolved with LIMIT stanchions powder-coated in the operator’s corporate red and a belt carrying the wording “SNCF INTERCITÉS”.

The model installed was the LIMIT model powder-coated in the operator’s corporate red, the base stanchion of the Dlimit collection, the brand’s premium range: stainless steel base 36 cm in diameter weighing 8 kg, a 3.7 m belt and a head certified for 200,000 cycles. These are laboratory figures, not marketing ones. In a space with constant traffic the base withstands lateral pull of up to 15 kg without tipping, which is the difference between a stanchion that stays where you put it and one that has to be repositioned every morning.

The belt was made to order with the wording “SNCF INTERCITÉS” printed in CMYK dye sublimation on SNCF's corporate red. It is not a sticker or a screen print laid on top: the ink is bonded into the fibre, so the lettering neither wears away as the belt retracts nor fades under light. It is the same process we apply from the very first unit, with no tooling cost and no minimum run.

Coating the tube in the operator’s colour rather than a neutral grey has a practical consequence as well as a brand one: the traveller reads the element as part of the station’s own system rather than as an obstacle someone else put there. A line that is recognised is a line that is respected.
